I've been a "numbers" guy most of my working life, so it's influenced most things in my life. The game of investments of our retirement funds have done well, but the game of football is still "new" to me at this stage in my life.

Oh, and CI, speaking of investing and numbers, BTW, I recently became an employee of Goldman Sachs about 3 months ago (back-office job working on investor's portfolios).

Thanks, Osso!
Before this job, it was really tough finding a decent perm job (as opposed to temp job). I was a Tech Writer and most jobs went off-shore.

You are engaged in the A2K NFL Fantasy League, CI, but are not particularly active. (You are pretty much tied with me for 7th).

Your roster could probably use some adjustments. You have some duds and you have a back-up QB who is out for the season.

You might want to go to the A2K NFL Fantasy thread for assistance in HOW to run the numbers to adjust your portfolio of players. No help, of course, on WHO to drop or add.

I don't mean to meddle.

You know, Rock Head, your avatar is like the fabulous tissue box cover that I REALLY want to buy...but Amazon won't ship overseas, speaking of fantasies!

My choices look real bad; it matches the San Jose Mercury News choices by only 6 out of the 13. UGH!

Mine look dumb as doornails, but I'm leaving them. What the hell, maybe SF will win, she says wishfully.

Good afternoon. So I wandered into the A2K NFL Control Center that I virtually created but which JPB is running this year. She, of course, is away jazzing in New Orleans.

Computer screens are blinking away, but I dare not touch anything. With my computer ineptitude, I could well erase 10% of the voter roll in JPB's town of Chicago, which coincidentally conforms to the 10% of the voters in Chicago who are technically dead but still vote.

The first halves of the early games have been very, very sloppy offensively. Fumbles, lots of incomplete passes and penalties. We'll see how things go as we move on.
