Linkin Park is cool, but I prefer System of a Down, Drowning Pool (goodbye Dave), Papa Roach Disturbed and the old school Black Sabbath, Ozzy, the Mighty Zep. also Metallica, Black Label Society, Megadeath.

I toured in a metal band that's doing a reunion show in July. I'm 54 and I have all the bitterness, anger, and angst of the heaviest 20 year old numetalhead, plus a prostrate the size of a grapefruit and a receding hairline, so there. Rolling Eyes

I still dig Alice In Chains, RIP, and the classic metal/rock. Say, does anyone remember Goddo? For a while, the singer had a band with a couple of ex-Goddo members, and some others called The Anger Brothers....BPB's story reminded me of that....they were very cool to see.

A few years ago, the Alice in Chains 'collection box set' went out for sale.....I wasn't as in good a shape $$$ as I am now and couldn't part with the $58 they wanted for it.....

Got it now.

Happy girl.

Nice to have you here, Kashmir! Welcome!

I've never heard of 'Curve' or 'Transplants', but I did overdose on NIN for a good while. Haven't heard much out of them/him lately.

Curve , is an industrial band, that has dance influences. And transplants is a mixture of Punk,Rap and traditional Organ music.

I hear they are using Metallica on the Guantanamo prisoners.

Rae, you are about 3 years younger than me, and I remember when Metallica first started out, I was in college, and the high school crowd was into them. I could never figure out the attraction, though I don't mind a couple of their tunes, most of it is just, well, noise.

cjhsa ~ until seeing Metallica live four years ago, I had no interest in them. But the concert was a birthday present, so I borrowed some cd's to prepare myself.....I've been hooked ever since. But not with their earlier stuff. The 'garage' days.

I know I've mentioned this before.....forgive me.....

My favourite cd is Metallica with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra ~ I have it on video, too.

Since I also love classical music, I'm in heaven with this combo.

Rae,
...Have you ever heard a steel band playing Europeon Classic, or American Classic (Jazz)?...Mind blowing.

Embarrassed (backacha' bad girl Smile )

I don't know about on record, I had the pleasure of seeing a band perform live. That's probably the best way to enjoy it. It's so fascinating watching those guys standing in front of a bunch of steel barrels, belting out Brown(James), Beethoven, or Bird.

Are you blushing, Booman?! Love ya ~ mean it!

I truly believe that collaboration with a symphony would benefit any band out there today.
