Many of us embrace Daishonin’s Buddhism because we encountered various problems and difficulties in our lives. For many of us, after receiving Gojukai, we find that what we suffered from were solved. Besides receiving many benefits, we can feel that the Gohonzon is always protecting us.

Should it be was instead? Thanks.

@tanguatlay,
I'd use was. "What we suffered from," can be taken as a singular group.
