As far as "Mountain levels being explained by a Flood (not erosion) I have no idea of what youre speaking, and I think I know most of these guys whove done some actual science in the search for a Flood Story

@anthony1312002,
Quote:
There are some scientist that surmise that the current height of various mountain ranges today is not what they were many thousands of years ago. The account of the flood as presented in the Bible makes it clear that huge amounts of water fell to the earth creating tremendous downward pressure which resulted in earth displacement, causing some surrounding areas to rise while others sank.

Thats easy to conclude. Erosion accounts for many height differences in active v relict mountain building.

Re: A Biblical "Flood", the Tigres and Euphrates floods and the Gilgamesh story have been surmised as the sources of the Biblical flood myth. Walter Pittman and William Ryans evidence has shown us that the HUGE piles of glacial meltwater of about 8 to 9000 ybp also accounted fro a flood myth that could have been trnsferred to the Biblical "fact base"

Doggerland, (The great flats between UK and France and the Low countries) were in existence until about 5 K years ago when the last of the flats an islnds disappeared under sea transgression.
Even In the US we hqve similr stories of floods that are accountable (BY ewvidence) of glacial meltwater. We dint need no "Big Rains" when w hd awall of ice up to 2 miles thick just N of the 40th parallel.

@Ragman,
Oh! Remember in exodus 34:16-20 where the commandments tell you to snap the necks of farm animals, specifically donkeys?

If the bible is god's words, why are there so many errors, omissions and contradictions? The main one being "thou shalt not kill."
Talk about trying to rationalize god's killing is almost comical to the extreme.
The flood
"According to the Bible, God killed every human except Noah, his wife, his sons, and their wives in the flood. Were any of these people killed unjustly? The Bible says specifically that all people (except Noah and his family) had become corrupted.12 Not only had all people become corrupted, but they were continually plotting evil!13 Is it possible that an entire culture can become corrupted? You bet! Recent history proves the point rather well. When the Nazis took over Germany before WWII, opposition was crushed and removed. When they began their purging of the undesirables (e.g., the Jews), virtually the entire society went along with the plan. Further examples are given on another page. So, the Bible indicates that no innocent people were killed in the flood."

Logic 101: Humans by their very nature commit sins of the bible. The bible is only 2,000 years old, while humans are 200,000 years on this planet. Much of the bible's stories are similar to the mythology of that time. There were other virgin births. We evolved from the primates. One must decide whether they believe in a bible full of contradictions, omissions and errors, or science.
I personally trust science.

I reviewed the bible from beginning to end and found out that the original Hebrew doesn't say of several miracles that common translations spread out in their versions.

Of course there are lots of assumed grammar mistakes in the bible, and inclusive there are several words without meaning because those words are not in use in the modern Hebrew anymore.

Yes, the bible also shows clear signs of have been edited at least one time.

Still, the bible is a much better reading which contains more truth that several idiotic theories of science which are full of fantasies, like time dilatation, the universe coming from a microscopic particle which expanded itself, black holes, humans evolved from apes, and lots of stupidities backed up with silly formulas and equations invented by retarded dudes, known alcoholic teachers, dudes who made excellent observations but absurd conclusions from them, a complete disaster.

Between science based in facts, in evidence, with the bible, I think that science is more attractive and helpful.

Between the current absurd theories of science with the bible, the bible rules, no doubt about it, the bible is like Trump, the winner, and those theories are like Hillary Clinton, a loser who still can't accept that she wasn't elected because people didn't like such a corrupt woman at all.

The reason why the bible is so important, is because is the best book of ancient history, inside its pages one can know the first populations, the first cultures, every first people is known by the name of the descendant shown in the bible.

There is no other culture, including the Babylonian, showing the first peoples of the world. The bible mentions the peoples of Africa, Europe/Middle East, and the far East. What a wonderful treasure.

If you want to know about ancient history, the first peoples who originated Egypt, Japan or Russia, then the bible is your book.

@cicerone imposter,
Agreed, but a lot of that is multi inexact translation towards the aims of the translator and the original sins of the Catholic church. Though tRump and the true Bible also have their fair share of "contradictions, errors and omissions".
