As governor, Jeb Bush used e-mail to discuss security, troop movements
Source: Washington Pos
t

Jeb Bush used his private e-mail account as Florida governor to discuss security and military issues such as troop deployments to the Middle East and the protection of nuclear plants, according to a review of publicly released records.

The e-mails include two series of exchanges involving details of Florida National Guard troop deployments in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, the review by The Washington Post found.

Aides to Bush said Saturday that none of the e-mails contained sensitive or classified information, and that many of the events mentioned in them were documented in press accounts, either contemporaneously or later. But security experts say private e-mail systems such as the one used by Bush are more vulnerable to hackers, and that details such as troop movements could be exploited by enemies.

An unknown number of the e-mails housed on Bush’s server were redacted or withheld from public release because they contained sensitive security issues, Bush representatives have said. Communications director Tim Miller said general policy was for Bush to discuss sensitive National Guard issues in person with only occasional briefings by e-mail that “wouldn’t contain information that should not be in the public domain.”

GOP Rivals Pile On Scott Walker's Flip-Flopping
Source: ASSOCIATED PRESS

By STEVE PEOPLES AND SCOTT BAUER Published MARCH 14, 2015, 9:20 AM EDT

WASHINGTON (AP) — Scott Walker's rivals see him as an up-and-comer in the Republican race for president, so they are focusing on the Wisconsin governor's changing positions on a number of issues.

The still-unofficial campaigns of several Republicans have assembled internal memos, research papers and detailed spreadsheets that highlight and track Walker's shifts on positions from immigration to ethanol to abortion. They say Walker has a broad pattern of flip-flopping that will be his greatest vulnerability.

The rush of what's known in the campaign trade as "opposition research" comes as Walker is in midst of a swing through two early voting states. He travels next week to South Carolina after spending this weekend in New Hampshire.

Steve Duprey, a Republican national committeeman from New Hampshire who is not aligned with any candidate, said Walker is relatively unknown among voters in his state — meaning the governor is subject to definition by his opponents. "You have to be an authentic candidate," Duprey said. "If people think you're flipping left and right, that sticks with you."

Ted Cruze announced his candidacy for president for 2016, and this is the same guy who shut down our government several years ago. He's not only dangerous but lacks the smarts or common sense to run anything! There's no cure for stupid, and we have plenty of voters lined up to vote for this "canadian" idjut.

Also, look at the scores for the republican party.

And I quote,

There is no other candidate who arouses such passionate anger in America as Ted Cruz. He is a divisive figure...so polarizing that even some in his own party despise him. The only group he attracts are the Tea Party think-alike. If anyone fantasizes Cruz's appealing to that fringe group will propel him into the White House, well I have the state of New York up for sale...cheap! It was the Tea Party during midterm elections when voter turnout is at its lowest that Cruz became the junior senator. What he will do, and Dems should be happy about this, is draw attention to the Republican malfunction, forcing the other candidates to try and outdo his conservative tactics...forcing them further to the right, a move that will surely turn off mainstream America. Cruz is a troublesome figure for the Republican Party. He has little or no chance of getting the GOP nomination, but his influence will be powerfully felt.

@korkamann,
Well stated observation; Ted Cruz only makes Hillary look much better as a candidate - even as she creates more controversy with her emails and Benghazi.

Talk about twisted politics in the US, we have no limit; the likes of Ted Cruz can become a candidate for president while he's not capable of being even a junior senator.

He's not one who can bring the country together in any way.

@korkamann,
We have a long time yet until the primaries. I can't wait until the Dems start throwing their hats in the ring. You damn well know not everyone on the left is excited about Hillary, so you know there will be others. The Dems are going to eat their own just as the GOP will be doing in the coming year and a half. This is going to be one hell of an election cycle, I can't wait.

GOP lawmaker: Air Force cadets must pledge to God because there is no ‘freedom from religion’
http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2015/03/gop-lawmaker-air-force-cadets-must-pledge-to-god-because-there-is-no-freedom-from-religion/

Beloved leader, this is a clear violation of our constitution Barrack. Will you address it or the courts? Is it in your powers to send a clear message this behavior is against our most dear constitutional edicts and will not be tolerated?

Up to now, you, President Obama are lenient to such atrocities against our most highly held constitutional statutes.

Who can fault you President Obama because if you went on an all out judicial witch hunt against the tea party they would criticize you/him even more. In all due respect Mr. President you could arrest a few of these tea party goons on the grounds of constitutional treachery. These tea party drones are already (bribed by the rich) corrupt to the core... They are unfit for office.

Will Hillary be strong enough to ENFORCE these types of boundaries and protect our constitution?

Or would it take an Elizabeth Warren too?

Who will stand up THE MOST for our separation of church and state? This will make our best next president. I don't think Hillary is "very" religious so I sense it is okay to trust her with the office of our presidency.

I am not against religion but I am against its ugly head appearing like a crude and evil demonic demagogue in the affairs of a country which is "solely" based upon religious liberty, equality and social (science) justice for all.

An Elizabeth Warren would be a good catalyst to see further what Hillary is made of.

In the end perhaps a Hillary presidency with a Warren VP. <3 TOP BILLING!

GOP religion is repressive and contrary to our most fundamental beliefs as a county, freedom from religion, IS liberty!!!

Send a few of these tea party traitors a clear message, the constitution is off limits! Let the constitution speak LOUDLY, not in a timid but well thought out, decisive fashion.

We need liberation, not divisive and hateful religionation...

The students at Liberty University where Cruz gave his "I'm running for President of the US" were required to attend. Those who refused to attend the speech would have been fined $10. According to Rachel Maddow, Ted Cruz is the most hated man in the US congress.

I am always amazed at the delusional level that Tea Party Republicans go to when it comes to their belief that most Americans support them, no matter what the polls say. It is easier for them to deny the polls are the real reflection of America's opinion than to actually believe they are not liked by most Americans. For them, they just scoff at it by calling those who do not support them as not being real Americans. As far as I'm concerned, if anyone is un-American, it is Tea Party Republicans; who else would try bringing down the American economy, just to get their own way.

Ted Cruz to me is the poster boy for Tea Party thinking. To affirm that he is in the right, he, like all Tea Party members, always says the American people want this or the American people want that. What he really is saying is, the Tea Party wants this or the Tea Party wants that, or to be a little more specific ...it's he who wants this or he wants that - but it is never a majority of Americans because he does not represent a majority of Americans. He certainly does not speak for the American people when he says he does, part of the delusion that Tea Party members are under.

That would be Obama, who pushed healthcare through without one Republican vote. Public opinion was and still is against it.

The majority of Americans disapprove of his EO on immigration. Did that stop him?

The majority do not like his economic recovery, his foreign policy, or his meddling wife in school lunches.
