With Indiana and North Carolina both about 3,500 votes separating and almost 90% counted, they won't have final totals for a couple of days for sure. Longer if they require automatic recount.

I yam starting to feel a bit more comfortable as I see these battleground states leaning for Obama. If Obama wins just one of the three (Fla, Va, NC) then it IS over. THE McCain side still has a numerical chance till then (Of course Im assuming that the left coast goes for Obama)

He has about as much chance of losing the election right now as he does of dying tonight. Breathe already, it's over.

It's still possible that CNN et al were wrong and they prematurely called OH, PA, etc. and that McCain actually won them.

That's why I'll wait a while before really exhaling.

But if they're right -- McCain just doesn't really have anywhere to turn.

I'd be more worried about being struck by lightning. They'd have to have gotten all the marginal ones they called wrong and Obama would have to lose every close race still to be called.

Laughing

I know, Robert. I'm pretty confident, but I'm not going to go into full celebration mode until a) McCain concedes and b) Obama gives his victory speech.

Laughing Sure, McCain needs Ace/King of diamonds runner runner for the straight flush over Obama's current quads. Next 8 electoral votes called for Obama and McCain is drawing dead.

This is where McCain would stand up and put on his jacket and collect his things if he were playing poker, but poker doesn't even have odds this infinitesimally small. I'd be more worried with the quads than in Obama's shoes.
