U.S. Military Losses Hit 4,000 in Iraq, Afghanistan (Update1)

By Robin Stringer

July 9 (Bloomberg) -- Four thousand U.S. service members have died in U.S. President George W. Bush's ``war on terror'' in Iraq and Afghanistan 5 1/2 years after American forces ousted the Taliban in December 2001.

A total of 3,596 have died in Iraq since the March 2003 invasion that removed Saddam Hussein from power. Some 2,957 of that number were killed in action, according to the latest Department of Defense figures. More than 26,500 personnel have been wounded in that conflict, 11,959 of them so seriously they couldn't return to duty.

In Afghanistan, 404 American personnel have died, of which 224 were killed in action. Those deaths include 61 personnel who died in Pakistan and Uzbekistan in support of the operation. Some 1,361 have been injured; 813 of them couldn't return to duty...

People get punched in the face. That is what happens when a person starts a fight in a bar. But eventually the punches start to hurt, you realize you shouldn't start a fight with someone you couldn't possibly understand and who you can't possibly knock out, and you get the hell out of the bar.

When did Iraq attack the USA?

Not one single terrorist attack in Iraq, was reported in the MSMedia BEFORE Bush's war. Saddam was an enemy of al-qaeda.

Basically, we're fighting the terrorists that we created.

Personally, I could care less what you have to say. I care about
what the soldiers say who have been to Iraq & Afghanistan.

If you could care less then that means there's still room for less caring....so how more less could you care? Laughing

This is primarily due to the fact that you are either incapable or unwilling to build an argument based upon logic, but instead rely upon emotion to make your decisions.

Like most sheep, I have no doubt that you are easily led by fear.

Not TTH, he'd pretend to act dead, rather than face face humiliation out side of the bar. (dead duck)

Present a single argument built upon logic and evidence, or I am correct.

Trying to help claims to be moved by the statements of soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. So Zippy provides a link to statements of soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan who are opposed to the war, and Trying to help then states that she doesn't care, it doesn't change the way she feels. Apparently, then, she was lying when she wrote: I care about what the soldiers say who have been to Iraq & Afghanistan. As Cyclo points out, there is precious little logic, if there is any at all, in operation there.

Okay, prove me wrong by explaining in detail how you'd win Iraq, if you were 'The Decider'?, as from now. (not the beginning of the war)

I don't lie and I don't have to prove anything to any of
you.

Since you are all so knowing answer these questions without
research.

What President of the USA and Vice President rode together in
a vehicle?
Then what year, where did this occur and what type of vehicle?

Easy.

Pull all troops out yesterday.

Again, for the 1,000th time, this war ended the day we stopped looking for WMD and removed Saddam from power.

Win/lose...who cares. We are involved in a police action today, we are at no risk of invasion by any foreign govt and we have no buisness being involved in Iraq today.
