Onomatopoeic words resemble the sound of something. Mimetic words in this case are words that resemble something visual. "Salgeumsalgeum" is a Korean work for "sneaking." Korean-speakers consider the word to resemble the motion of sneaking--but not by the kind of SOUND FX of sneaking; the connection is between the words and the motion. Its sound is a different thing. Kind of a "hear colors" and "see smells" LSD trip. We do it in English, too: "bling bling," for example. But it doesn't appear to be too common in English.
