This has nothing to do with hunting, unless, you realize, the wild turkey was almost the national bird...
I see baldies all the time when I'm in the woods. They're amazingly large and quite graceful in the air, until they lose airspeed... saw one harassing a heron, the heron spread out his wings and the eagle tried to stop in mid-air, not a good idea - he almost dug a hole.
They'll also attack you quite viciously if you get too close to their nest. You'll never see 'em coming either.

Well I guess you'll never go robbin' balled eagle eggs again :wink:
I think all raptors, endangered or not, are protected, anyway.
