(Sorry, the same stentences again. But this time the question is from a different angle)
Is breast cancer a local disease that spreads predictably over time to develop distant metastases? Is it a systemic disease from the outset, with distant metastases present well before diagnosis? Or is the truth somewhere in between, with many cancers being localized at diagnosis and, if untreated or recurrent, acquiring the ability to metastasize and kill?
What does with many cancers mean?
I guess there're two possibilities:
1) just like many other cancers; just like cancers other than breast cancer
2) It should be read as a coherence: with many breast cancers being localized at diagosis and...
Which one do you think is correct?
Thanks in advance!
Neither; I think the reference is to many tumors or incidences of the same type of cancer.
makes more sense if you add the word "as"
as with many cancers.
Can't agree with the as (sorry Chai). It changes the meaning and makes a comparison where none is intended.
Thank you guys for your comments!
