Walter, You are a photographer's photographer. Great shots. You have the touch of the artist in you.

ul, Have a great vacation - but, wear a mask in Mexico City - it is reported to be one of the most polluted cities on earth for air quality.

Flight.
Aircraft arrived from Atlanta already with 2 hours delay, so they started 90 minutes later here. In Atlanta the platform to leave the plane was not working for 30 minutes, then the luggage was very late- missed the connection by 5 minutes. No other flight- hotel voucher, yes, but all hotels were sold out- now he i going via Denver. He is not amused.

My goodness, ul, I am hoping things get better for you. You should have your own personal plane and I will be your pilot. No problems with time or luggage that way.........

Wishing you the best for the rest of your visit.

Patti and I visited Europe in 2001 and my luggage didn't make it. We landed at Marco Polo in N Italy. A week later - my clothing was screaming for help - when my suitcase finally arrived in Wien. My luggage was more traveled than I on that visit. Shocked Very Happy

ehBeth, good job! Look at those babies! Too cute.

Walter, just beautiful.

ul, hope you have a better traveling day today. My nephew and his new bride honeymooned in Vienna, had a wonderful 7 days visiting Italy all except the flight. They purchased new clothes in Italy, beacuse the baggage was lost. Finally when they arrived home, the airlines called to say the bags were found and at SFO. They told the airlines to keep the bags and they'd pick them up at the airport. Instead, the baggage was resent to Rome. Stamped on the luggage were numerous tags from the different places the clothes had visited. Amazing.

First day of vacation awsome! Today, movies. Very Happy

Well, Kansas sounds fair, although South Dakota sounds more inviting to me:

from ask.yahoo.com:
Quote:

The geographical center of the lower 48 states lies outside of Lebanon, Kansas, in the middle of a hog farm.

The geographical center of all 50 states is located 17 miles west of Castle Rock, South Dakota.

The geodetic center of the U.S. is found approximately 42 miles south of Lebanon, Kansas. (Note: A geodetic survey makes corrections to account for the curvature of the Earth.)
The article is quick to point out, however, that none of the designated "centers" are truly precise or objectively determined:

Many variables exist when calculating the center of a land mass as large as the United States, and selective criteria and methods can be used, from the selection of different map projections, to defining the periphery of the shape with varying degrees of accuracy.
In fact, scientists at the Geodetic Survey have stopped calculating "centers" due to the imprecise nature of the task. Oscar S. Adams, Senior Mathematician for the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey, even wrote, "Since there is no definite way to locate such a point, it would be best to ignore it entirely...."

...never been to Kansas. I hear they have good corn dogs there.
