Well, yes.
AA, had the lowdown on the best wine for weekend drunkouts in combat related to Vietnam.
We had weekend "lawn parties" - -- ie, the biggest drunkout you ever dreamed of.
OH, the stories I have to tell.
Ahh,
Except for the few fellows who didn't survive the next week.
That's life - and that's death.
We are all in the same path.
Some now - some later.
"Good Night, and, Good Luck"
Good morning, Wildclickers......
One more tree still standing.
Thanks for Aa's posting ehBeth! Very cool
Tada, ul! The best of the holiday to you too!

In the email - just moments ago ... a message from Aa ...

/ Here beginneth message to Rainforesters /
It is Confession Time: I indulge in a bit of lurking, which is how I learned that Wildclickers were asking about me. ehBeth, being
a good cyber-buddy, almost always knows what is happening in my life. So I am sending this message via her, because the
hamster was uncooperative in letting me post directly.
Know that I am quite okay. Extremely busy, with a combination of heavy family responsibility, community involvement, doing
what I can to keep the family-biz going, and homeowner stuff, like being on-call to consult with the gardener guy and his crew.
Because of of all that, I do not travel and rarely leave town overnight. Therefore the world comes to me, in bits & pieces. Last
Sunday I had front row seats for a winery amphitheatre gig (Stevenot Winery) performance by Met star Claudia Waite and Kerry
Henderson. In two days I will host two houseguests & their dog for a 5-day visit. I keep my accounts at Amazon.com & Powell
Books active (as well as local independent bookstores). The latest are Sting's DVD & CD "The Journey & The Labyrinth: The Music
of John Dowland". Also a book I have long wanted to read: _The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat_ The NYT is available at a
few local newsstands, and I often read the San Francisco Chronicle. All in all, I try to neutralize the effect of my little village,
Murphys, being small in population and remote in geography.
As for the current buzz about Columbia, that place is very familiar to me. I drive through it every time I go to Sonora. Both of
these places are in Tuolumne County. -- "Sutter's Mill" (the site, that is) and "Sutter's Fort" are in quite different locations.
Sutter's Fort itself is located in the city of Sacramento, our state capitol, whereas the Sutter's Mill site is up in the Sierra foothills,
alongside the river. But don't get me started on the subject of the California Gold Rush; much could be said.
To all of you, I wish a good day today, and especially to USA-folks, I wish a happy & thought-full Independence Day.
P.S. Speaking of patriotism and all its ramifications, I'm reminded of this. The people who live not far from here have a vehicle
with a bumper sticker that says, "Somewhere in Texas a Village Is Missing Its Idiot."
HaaaaaaHaaaaaa - - -
Great bumpersticker AA..............
One thing about that though is that the "Dumya" was not born in Texas - he is from Connecticut. Not many Texans actually know that. Thanks to "Papa's" advertising him as owner of the "Texas Ranger" baseball team (he actually had acquired 1% with the help of his father) he got known in Texas and as a result was elected Gov.
ul, thanks for the fireworks......
Thanks ehBeth! So good hearing Aa's well, working, and busy!
Somehow the Sierras transformed to the Gobi desert - temps exceeding the century mark {110 degrees reads the hummingbird porch thermometer} drop in temps not until Monday says NOAA. Tomorrow Stradee visits the deer pool.

Exciting news (in my little life)! I got a call today letting me know that I won a goody bag of books - Setanta's off to pick them up tomorrow - I can hardly wait to find out what they are - the only thing I know for sure is that they're published by Penguin. Books, glorious books!

Congratulations ehBeth.....
Stradee, I've been monitoring the temps in your area. Stay cool in the pool.
The same WX front - due to the jet stream looping well into Canada - is taking the high temps east. So, everyone have fans at the ready.
Hurray, ehBeth!
Staying cool Dan, thanks.
Waited till last evening late for running house applicances {except for the cooler} No winds to speak of, and with the forests natural insulation process working well.....trippy weather.
Yesterday, the herd did not argue one bit when given a cooling bath. Poor babies were swealtering.
We're getting the heat up here.
The temp's will be in the high 30's on the weekend - apparently Sunday's humidex is projected to hit 47 celsius

Keep cool - ehBeth and kids. And, of course Setanta.
Mawnin'.
An extremely hot weekend shaping up hereabouts, might hit three digits by tomorrow. In Boston that's almost unheard of. Also, with the humidity here, 100 degrees feels like 120 elsewhere.
I have clicked.
A tad cooler today - hasn't hit the 100 degree mark yet, and tomorrow a bit cooler still.
Vacation begins Saturday!
The power went out just before 7 a.m. - went out and waved at a couple of neighbours.
As soon as Setanta was awake and showered, we headed to the beach with books, water, dogs and snacks. Stayed about 4 hours - came back - the power had been restored - it's still hot.
Drinking lots of grapefruit juice/soda with ice. Feeling like I might be cooler if I shaved my head

Can't you imagine how close we are to ONE HUNDRED ACRES ??
Won't be long now - We are the WILDCLICKERS !!!!
AA, I am so glad you are monitoring this thread - and - of course, clicking to save a tree each day. Thanks.
Till Later,
Dan
Good Sunday all,
And, good clicking.
Gotta go mow the grass again today - with all the rain we have had it's growing fast.
Stay cool and dry, wildclickers!
For Dan and Pattie
For Canada, Boston, ul, Walter, and the Western States Wildclickers ~
clicking in between the storms
hope everyone's comfy tonight
