Ancient Hawaiian Warriors

Did anyone know about the warrior traditions of the pre Eropean Hawaiians? It's pretty amazing, not just the clubs and spears that I expected. Rather the ancient Hawaiians had pike formations and a variety of other sweet tactics and weapons Hawaiian Weapons There warfare seemed quite brutal though, particuarly in their human sacrifices and other aspects of the ancient hawaiian culture.

What do you think?

Welcome to a2k, kukaluka. Once many years ago I read a thin little book on Hawaiian culture. I remember that they addressed some of the brutal war tactics. That website is pretty cool.

Thanks for the welcome!

I guess I found it to be pretty cool because I didn't think of human sacrifice and endemic warfare as being part of ancien Hawaii. I found it all very interesting and an area of history that gets little attention.

That's interesting about a little book.

The tiki gods were pretty sweet too. (judging by that unique signiture you probably find them interesting)

Mahalo! (thanks)
