(1) Cut the dude some slack.

Does the "slack" mean "unused capacity"?
What is "cut"?

(2) You deserve to be mushroom stamped for your comment.

What does the "mushroom" mean?

(3) If you want conspiracies, try the JFK one.

What is JFK?

Thanks.

(1) Slack is a loosening, like not tightening rope. The expression means to give someone a break and not be too hard on them.
(2) I've never, ever heard this expression before.
(3) JFK is John F. Kennedy, the President who was assassinated in 1963. Some people believe his murder was a conspiracy.

"Cut the dude some slack" would be the same as saying "Give the guy a break". Both are basically just saying to stop being so picky and leave the person alone.

I've never heard this one so I'll leave it alone. Maybe someone else has heard it.

"JFK" refers to John F. Kennedy, former US President who was killed in Dallas, TX. There are several dozen conspiracy theories about his death (i.e. who was involved, how many gunman there were, etc..).

Hi Oristar, You've gotten answers to slang expressions 1 and 3. I'm wondering whether you heard expression 2 correctly. I've never encountered this expression before. Do you have a context for it?

Here's a link to some definitions for "mushroom stamped."

It's a lewd phrase and someone may choose to delete this response.

I guess it would leave a sort of mushroom-like mark.

The context:

John: "Let's discuss how to write a program with which an article can be created automatically."

Jack replies: "John, why do you always start sh!t with us?"

"I don't think your manner is proper, Jack." Andrew cuts in.

"Jack, you deserve to be mushroom stamped for your comment. " William shouts out.

I think William over-reacted there.

Oristar, Thanks for the context. It turns out that we didn't need it. Dupre found the answer without a context. And the answer that Dupre found fits exactly in the context you provided.

I always am glad to learn new expressions, but I have a feeling that I won't be using this one much. LOL.
