Paul Revere and the boys didn't have the Geneva Conventions. I guess that kind of invalidates your point.
I haven't seen the ruling only news reports.
The news reports say that the appeals court told the judge to reconsider and take arguments from the government before ruling this time. They didn't order him to reinstate the charges.
