Of much more interest is the fact that translations can make differences in conceptual metaphors, and/or metaphorical expressions explicit, and that they may indeed trigger controversial debates in intercultural communication.
I guess the structure of the sentence is something like:
Of interest is the fact that translations can make differences explicit, and that.........
Am I right??

You are correct if you are saying that translations between different languages often elude isomorphism and require a cultural backcloth to understand the nuances of meaning.
