Quote:
Speaker, 31, said he, his doctors and the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention all knew he had TB before he flew to Europe for his wedding and honeymoon last month. But he said he was told that he wasn't contagious or a danger to anyone. Officials said they would rather he didn't fly but didn't forbid it, he said.

I blame it on the doctors who spoke with him before he flew. A layman is not expected to know the ramifications of an exotic disease whom many people, especially younger people, know little. They should have been much stronger in his instructions to him, and inform him of the dangers of him being in a closed space with other people.

I can understand why he is upset by what happened, but I don't think that any of the blame should go to him.

There are too many holes in this story. Many unanswered questions. It is not a complete picture. I don't believe some of it.

What I don't get is why the CDC doctor who is a TB specialist AND Father of the Bride, would be okay with his daughter and grandaughter being exposed when the guy isn't even safe to be on a flight with or spoken to at the border.

If it's that serious, why wasn't he flown to isolation immediately upon finding the desease? Did he not shop for groceries, talk to the guy that married them? Or, have any other day to day contact with people that could have been infected by him?

There is more to come on this story........ The man flew after being told not to to save his ass and put hundreds of people in danger.

The story doesn't add up. Why did the guy take his father, who is also an attorney, with him and tape the "meeting". There is a lot of this story that is missing and I personally don't believe most of it.

In todays paper there's a picture of him and his wife and she's wearing a mask. Shouldn't it be the other way around?

Sure, there are plenty of updates. I haven't saved them. Simply google the subject matter at any of the major newspapers. I think there was an article in the NYTimes yesterday.

There are complicated issues, involving at least some lack of readiness on the health system side, some, to me from here, clear failures on that side. Also some on the homeland security end of things. At the same time, I don't personally buy the patient and family as all clear on behavior, but, I wasn't there.

That I find funny. I was talking about the original post.

Edit: Thanks ossobuco I just have a hard time believing everything I read or see on TV is all.
