I used to stay at this place in Midtown till I saw that thing on Dateline. Maria Shriver showed up with one of those blue lights.
Iet's just say they were very unsanitary.

Dateline is a news-magazine show that broadcasts News/entertainment TV (expose) on nightly prime-time NBC (major network) in America. "Dateline NBC" is the show, and it's somewhat similar to '60 Minutes'. Maria Shriver, is the reporter. You probably know who she is...the wife of present Gov. of California and former movie star, Arnold Schwarzenegger and daughter of the politician Sargent Shriver and his wife Eunice Kennedy Shriver, the sister of the former President John F. Kennedy.

This is a guess, but a blue light (possibly ultra-violet) is a device that must show up germs and unsanitary conditions (I think).

I hope this helps.

Ragman's covered most of your questions.

"Midtown" would be a hotel in midtown Manhattan.

Here's a website--complete with live webcam.
