I was downtown the other day and had a couple hours to kill before an appointment with my attorney, so I decided to check out a movie. My choices were limited since there was only once theatre in the vicinity and it wasn't a multiplex, but rather had only two screens.
I glanced at the marquee and noticed one of the offering was Steven Seagal's classic, "Exit Wounds". I toyed with seeing that again because I consider it to be one of the greatest movies ever and I still, to this day, am upset that Seagal didn't win the Oscar for best actor.
Now my attention turned to the other one. I was hesitant. The title scared me a little and the cast was not of the highest caliber.
I glanced at the movie's billboard in the window and read the description. I decided to see the movie, just to expand my movie-viewing horizons. I purchased a ticket, nervously glanced around, and entered the darkness of the theatre.
There were a half dozen people spread throughout the theatre, all men, and all of them had a large bucket of popcorn on their laps.
I considered running back for some popcorn since it seemed to be in vogue, but just then the rustling of the curtains captured my attention as they pulled back in a majestic sweep and the theater darkened.
I settled back in my chair as the image below appeared on the screen, accompanied by some soft music, and the movie began....
It wasn't a bad movie. I cried in a few spots. There were some very poignant scenes involving Favre and AJ Hawk.
I would give it a 5 on a scale of 1 to 10.
