Without the second letters "Tuesday" and "Thursday" could be confused.

In a five day week this probably isn't likely, but if the catalogue listed a Chemistry Lab on "T" you would have no way of knowing whether this interfered with Life Drawing on "T" or Beginner's Golf on "T".
