Since we stayed only a bit more than a day in NY, we only made some expeditions in our neighbourhood e.g. here Gramercy Park ...

http://i9.tinypic.com/61y5or5.jpg

This is a private park, owned by a couple of persons in the neighbourhood who inherited a key.

About half a dozen - who used the park for "jogging" in the morning - asked me about Penny.
But no-one invited us ... Sad

Part of this tour was the ferry trip to Staten Island and back - so we didn't see only boats and bridges (Brooklyn Bridge here)

http://i17.tinypic.com/6g0isdh.jpg

.... but the Statue of Liberty of course as well

Later, we had a drink opposite the Stock Exchange in Wall Street ...

http://i9.tinypic.com/4xwyp28.jpg

... and watched/listened to a Dixieband with some Swing dancers and a singer at Washington Square Garden

http://i9.tinypic.com/4kcho3p.jpg

(Some info about the band: the Loose Marbles, fifteen musicians who play clarinet, trumpet, banjo, washboard, accordion, trombone, guitars, sousaphone, standup bass, and guitars, plus two danxcers and a female singer (at least!) - but you're likely to see only seven or eight performers at any given gig. And since you rarely see the same configuration of instruments twice in a row, you rarely hear the same kind of jazz.
They are excellent musicans ... might they belong to the hobo scene or be educated at university with a degree in music.)

We saw of course a lot during those hours in NY, but we can't post all photos here

So, on Wednesday, we travelled by train to Boston ...

http://i19.tinypic.com/53g2veb.jpg

.... and when we arrived at the bed & breakfast in Southie, even a new friend was waiting there for Penny already:

Using a guide book, we explored Cambridge - starting at Harvard Square ...

http://i11.tinypic.com/6bo24d0.jpg

... and then, when strolling through Harvard, we even saw Bill Clinton (though only on a big screen [we arrived too late to see him talking to 10,000 a couple of yards away from here):

But Penny was fortune enough to touch the "lucky foot" the John Harvard statue in front of University Hall ...

http://i11.tinypic.com/4kvao7o.jpg

.... and we could watch quite a bit of the graduation ceremonies:

The other day, we made in Boston the "Total Boston experience tour", which lead us to Lexington and Concord as well (although we didn't stay there very long):

Lexington (sorry about the second pic - I should have asked the minuteman to turn out of the sun a bit)

In Concord, we didn't stop anywhere than close to the North Bridge ...

Part of this tour was a harbour cruise as well.
But before we jumped on the boat, Penny rested on Ladder 10 of the Boston Fire Department, on stand-by duty in the harbour:
