Turns out she's a bit of a lush, though!

The trip to Long Island was somewhat low-key. jespah's parents had recently moved, so there were boxes all over the place. I mainly busied myself reading, but I did take a quick selfie on the Long Island Rail Road.

Eight years later, sozlet is reading "Night" in school and I remembered this picture and story. Thanks again to all of the people who took Penny on such amazing adventures (and widened one girl's horizons).

Besides the pleasure to have one of the rare Soz's appearances here: when showing some friends photos from Chicago last weekend, I came across some of Penny's pictures from there. (Eight years, really.)

I'm not sure if I saw that photo at the time - if I did, I must have been distracted since I didn't post. It is very dear, and strong.
