My assignment: Think about a skill that most people do not have but could benefit from mastering.
I choose computer skills
Any suggestions on how I should start my paper. Or even my thesis
If there are any other skills one might think of, I am up for suggestions
Thank you
The ability to make a billion dollars would be nice.
Could you persuade me to do that, please?
Oh well.
You might make a few lists before starting (whatever topic you choose):
1) Examples of people who have this skill? Some people who don't have it?
2) What ARE the benefits of the skill?
3) What effects would the skill have in someones life?
4) What effects would it have on society?
5) Are there any drawbacks or dangers to having the skill?
6) What would it take to learn the skill?
7) Where would somebody go, or do, or practice, to help learn the skill?
8) What resources would be useful, to help learn the skill?
9) What related skills might come more easily after this skill is mastered?
Jeez, if you make a few more questions like these ones, and answer each
question with a couple of ideas, then your paper is pretty well done!
It's kind of like day-dreaming, except with a pencil connected to it!
Thank you
Thank you
Your reply has been very helpful.
I wish I could persuade my self to have the ability to make a billion dollars. If I come up with anything I will be sure to let you know.
Until then
Thank you again for your help
I think most people DO have computer skills.
The only person I know who gave up on them was my husband's grandmother but she was in her 90s and a bit set in her ways.
Osso, no. At work I have to be careful about new procedures and forms, as some of my co-workers are far less skilled than others. And skill in one area doesn't necessarily mean skill in most. I'm thinking of one person I know who uses the computer to research documents in the company database, but who can't input information at all...
Most people don't have the skills to save a life, such as CPR and basic life saving techniques that are taught to lifeguards, etc.
In this day and age, if might also be good for us all to learn how to react to a biological attack.
