There are some people who forgot what the President said in that speech.
Some of my friends have a hard time negotiating the internet and some websites. I, myself, can't remember the whole speech. I thought it was
a good speech and maybe some people would like to read it again.

Ok, that I can see.

But IMO, no one I know needs to be reminded of what happened.

Reading that speech again I am reminded of all the good will we had at that time around the world and in our own country which has been flushed down the toilet with advent of the Iraq debacle.

We practically abandoned the search for Osama Been forgotten to fight a country that had nothing to do with 9/11 and little to nothing to do with Al Qaeda until the invasion. Bush diverted all the good will and determination from a then united US and a willing world fighting in Afghanistan to Iraq by drumming up sexed up intelligence or in some cases out right known wrong intelligence only to find in the end there was no WMD or even very much corroboration between Saddam Hussein and Al Qaeda.

Instead of using all the good will to advantage or even make good on all his talk of "homeland security" Bush chose to divide the world into "US and Them." Anyone in world who disagreed with their views on Iraq fell into the "against us" category. Now the whole world is divided as never before and we can all thank not Osama bin Laden, but George Bush.

why didn't you just post a thread that said "If you don't support bush and the war like I do you're a scumbag who is inferior to me and not a real american like me" and be done with it?

Exactly who the hell do you think you're fooling with this crap? Laughing

[Johnny:]
Yes, it's over, call it a day
Sorry that it had to end this way
No reason to pretend
We knew it had to end some day, this way

[Deniece:]
Guess it's over, the kids are gone
What's the use of tryin' to hang on
Somewhere we lost the key
So little left for you and me and it's clear to see

[Both:]
Too much, too little, too late to lie again with you
Too much, too little, too late to try again with you
We're in the middle of ending something that we knew

[Johnny:] It's over

[Deniece:] Oh, it was over

[Both:]
Too much, too little, too late to ever try again
Too much, too little, too late, let's end it being friends
Too much, too little, too late, we knew it had to end

[Deniece:] Ah, it's over

[Johnny:] It's over

[Deniece:]
Guess it's over, the chips are down (whoa)
Nearly all our bridges tumbled down

[Johnny:]
Whatever chance we try, let's face it why deny
It's over (It's over)
It's over

[Both:]
Too much, too little, too late to ever try again
Too much, too little, too late, let's end it being friends
Too much, too little, too late, we knew it had to end

[Johnny:] And it's over

[Deniece:] And it's over

[Johnny:] And it's over

[Both:]
Too much, too little, too late to ever try again
Too much, too little, too late, let's end it being friends

What in the world are you all talking about?

I am not trying to deceive or fool anyone.

My post meant for "ALL", everyone who reads on the internet, not just certain people on this forum. I don't know if someone will forget what happened on 9/11 or the speech the President addressed to the nation. I try not to assume anything about what people think or know.

Apparently, some of you that responded don't feel this way. I am not here to make friends or hurt anyone. If you don't like me fine. No one said you have to but you should not make assumptions on my intentions if you don't know me.

If you try not to assume things about folks you don't know,

then please don't assume that anyone has forgotten 9/11. Or any aspect of it. Or that they either desire or wish for you to remind them.

This sort of thread is usually bait for arguments. I understand that you didn't take it that way, but you need to remember - this is the Politics forum, not the happy friends holding hands forum. People are more than willing to argue at any moment.

TTH, I don't think you should take our responses personally. The attacks here are against Bush, not against you.

Many Americans, including the Americans on this forum, are furious at what we believe Bush has done to our country. The war was a disasterous mistake that our country will be paying for for decades to come (not to mention the thousands of lives and hundreds of billions of dollars).

Now Bush gives this speech, where he tries to justify the war (that many of us would go as far as saying is immoral) using 9/11? Do you understand why this might make us upset?

Surely the way many Americans feel about Bush is not a surprise to you.

plus, if I may quote the title:

Not "...those who forget that Bush gave a speech about 9/11, here it is if you want to read it..."

Or even "Remember this speech?"

Nope, it was "Just to REMIND those who have forgotten 9/11."

Of course that's gonna get a bad reaction.

Some people still refer to that day as 911 like Zippo (which I hate btw).
That is why I wrote 9/11. The majority of people refer to that date that way.

The speech is also about Afghanistan and a lot of people seem to forget we still have troops there.

I don't mind the bad reaction about the way I made the post. Maybe I should have worded it differently. I don't feel I should have.
What I do mind is others telling me what my intentions are. You don't know me.

I posted the link to the speech so others can read it. That is really all I have to say on the matter.

You seem to make a lot of assumptions about what other people have forgotten, are you psychic?
