Anyone taking Buspar?

I have been prescribed Buspar for anxiety. I have not yet taken it, due to all of the side effects I've found online and listed on the pharmacy pamphlet.

I take xanax currently, but I am building a tolerance to it and I asked my doctor for something that would not be addictive or make me drowsy all day. I have not been diagnosed with depression, and do not feel that I am.

I have searched buspar topics on the web and everything I read is discouraging. ie... worsening anxiety, insomnia, restlessness, tremors, involuntary face/arm/head movements.

I am aware I need a medication at this point, since my anxiety has gotten to the point where I am never content, I constantly think I have something medically wrong with me, I have irregular hearbeats (which have been diagnosed by a cardiologist as premature beats). I also have out of body moments and a general sense of nervousness. I have also had benign muscle twitches for almost 2 years and have been cleared by a neurologist and was told the cause was physch Sad ological.

Any experience/advice would be so greatly appreciated.

I've been taking Buspar (Buspirone) for years. 15 mg three times a day. I've never suffered any side effects from it, and it has favorably affected the quality of my life. Keep in mind that even if only 1% of those tested suffer any side effects, those have to be listed in the references you've seen - doesn't mean it isn't overall a very safe drug. In fact, the worst thing I've heard from people who have taken Buspar is that it just doesn't do anything fro them at all, good or bad.

I have taken Buspar before and it helped when I needed it.

I took it for 3 months following an event in my life, and I truly believe it was better for me then the xanax I was started on.

I was not tired, I did have a slight lack in appetite, but it was only for the first 2-3 weeks. Then I felt fine.
I had some headaches that seemed odd, but nothing that really got in the way of my daily life.
Im not a headache prone person, so I know that mine were caused by buspar. Not to mention, when I stopped taking it, they went away Laughing

All in all, the headaches would have been my only complaint, but not enough of a complaint that I ever stopped taking it.
