"Stock" in this case would mean his parents and their parents and back for generations - his geneology.

By "bellybutton" economics I suppose he means that he received these things by luck of being born into a family that had these things. He inherited real estate, mineral water, oxygen, and matchbooks.

In other words he is one of those self-commending presumptuous yuppie writers who is trying to convince the reader (and himself) that he had a unique upbringing (and should be worthy of a Pulitzer), by redefining sentence structure with his God-like artistic license.
