I am revising total war for one of my exams, and am really stuck. if anyone knows any examples of total war and why they are examples I would love to hear them...
A lot of what we'd call modern warfare seems to have originated with the wars of Chengis Khan and his immediate successors. Mongol armies were very nearly modern in everything other than using firearms and their ability to live off of the land in invaded countries surpassed that of any modern military organization. Their conceptions of C3 were almost totally modern.
