My favoirte technique is to not say anything, but simply cry into the phone.
But it cannot be loud sobbing. It must be the quiet weeping of the gief-stricken.
Actually in WA state we have a law that applies to that. You get the company name, person's name and phone number. You tell them not to
call you again. If they do, you fill out paperwork and that company pays a fine. It works great. Why? because it doesn't even come down to having to do that. Not for me or anyone I know. I make sure before I hang up that they know they are calling WA state and they have even said I understand.
So, they are aware we have this law. I have never had a repeat call.
Neither have the people I told who live here and do the same thing.
