According to the JAMA, postmenopausal women, who walked at least 4 hr/week, reduced their number of hip etc fractures by 41%?

This sounds good! Wonder what kind of walking shoes these walkers used. Rolling Eyes

Postmenopausal women need to do weight bearing exercise in order to prevent osteoporosis, which is the prime cause of hip fractures in older women. Walking is perfect, especially speed walking, which is aerobic as well. Swimming, which is great for your heart and lungs, does nothing to protect your bones.
