I am 31 years old female, and last week I had my blood tested for various reasons, today the doctor told me that my vitamin d is deficienent, and I need to go to the drug store and get some over the counter vitamin D supplements. I went and got 500 calcium with 200 IU Vitamin D mixed pills and straight vitamin D 400 IU , the doctor didn't even tell me how much IU to get or much more about it. He told me I should lose around 15 pounds due to my blood sugar almost is diabetic average at 6.2 for 3 mths. (7 is considered diabetic) I am concerned , I have been weak, my body hurts on and off , I have more bad feeling days than good. I recently was treated for anxiety and given meds. I am also taking beta blockers/ and a water pill for high blood pressure. I seen my Ob gyn last week due to bleeding irregularites and spot bleeding and he said I could have pallups/ fibroids that are being checked by ultrasound one week from now, I am not sure this has anything to do with vitamin d deficiency. I am confused on what is going on with my health and why my vitamin D is down. My sister recently left the same doctor I am seeing for this due to misunderstandings, I am not sure I just want to drop my doctor and see someone else. I understand sunlight helps produce vitamin D but do not believe this is the reason for the loss. If you have any advice or experienced the same symptoms please share your messages. Thank you,
Most of your problems are the kind that are triggered by poor diet and stress. I suggest you see a good nutritionist and start doing yoga and meditation. A woman your age should not be in such bad shape. The good news is you were not diagnosed with brain cancer - your problems are fixable if you change your lifestyle.
Kaliva--
Welcome to A2K.
What's wrong with your body? There is too much of your body. Those extra pounds are taxing your pancreas, your heart, your tendons and your bones--as well as your psyche.
I'd be very surprised if your doctors haven't urged you to lose weight.
Have any of them offered you a sensible diet plan?
Exposure to sunlight could provide you with enough Vitamin D to be "normal". Your problem isn't Vitamin D--your problem is extra poundage.

So you are a doctor now GW? Think you can diagnose peoples medical conditions over the internet without ever seeing them or knowing anything about their lifestyle? why that person needed to have blood tests.
Kaliva go back to your doctor, tell him how you feel about the treatments he has described to you. If you are still dissatisfied find another doctor.

You're just mad at me Dadpad because of my challenge to your post over in Relationships & Marriage. This woman asked for opinions and I gave her mine, she may do whatever she likes with the advice. It certainly will not hurt her.

Don't make me give you grief over being a mindreader!
Geez, with all of the threads and topics and posts on this site, what's the odds that I'd run into you two here?
G W, we're still waiting for an apology. Aren't you gonna say I'm sorry? Come one...let's all be friends.
Ahem, guys... DD, GW... can you take this to PMs?

Eh, what a mess. Sorry DrewDad. You sound similar to me... drewdad, dadpad... very confusing to a Slovak.

Huh? What did I do that needs an apology? It's not like I called anyone a Poopity Head (OK I might have implied it, but I didn't actually say it).
My only advice is to watch her diet, exercise, find some way to alleviate as much stress as possible and put her focus on getting healthy. 31 is way too young to be falling apart unless there's a serious illness and it doesn't sound like there is one. Just alot of nagging smaller things that can be controlled.
Focus on being healthy. Work at it. There's no glory in being weak and ill.
