My wife is hosting an "international baby" baby shower.

She's looking for translations of "welcome baby" and terms of endearment in other languages.

"Mon petite chou" comes to mind as an example of an endearment.

(Please also mention what language you are posting....)

Polish-I dont know the polish word for baby. For Yiddish Substitute "bebe" for dsiecka

China has a formalized system for transliterating Mandarin using the Western alphabet (rather than traditional Chinese characters).

"Ying er ni hao" can be used to welcome a baby.

Actually modern Germans have borrowed many American words. Germans actually say "baby" for a newborn.

"Herzlich Willkommen, Baby!"

Also an endearing term for baby in German is "Kaninchen" (little bunny).

Well, mon petit chou (mes petits choux for several) is a very common term of endearment.

It applies not only for babies but also for your loved one.

You can also say mes petits lapins, mes bambins, mes chouchous d'amour..

That's what I was pointing out -- no "e" at the end of "petit" if it's used with "mon."
