He said, "God bless you! You are a kind man." what is the indirect speech of it. Does it, 'He prayed that God bless me because I am a kind man.' OR some other. In fact i am confused with the second part of it i.e. 'you are a kind man.' How does it be changed to indirect speech regarding the previous part.
Idiomatic phrases like "God bless you!" are difficult to render into indirect speech. I suppose you could write "He expressed the hope that God would bless me, and said that I was a kind man".
Regarding the second part, he said "You are a kind man.". Ask yourself the question, "What was he saying?". The answer is that he was saying that you were a kind man.
