This is the easiest bread in the world to make (you don't even knead it and pretty much otherwise ignore it all but the last few hours) but it takes almost two days from start to finish.
I've been playing around with bread for the last couple of car-less weeks but this is my favorite. I thought it was a beautiful loaf so I took a glamour shot of it.

Yeah, that's the one I mean. I thought it tasted like sourdough, I don't remember if it's officially called that.
That's it exactly! The recipe ran in my paper last Tuesday so I whipped some up. Fabulous!

Isn't it though?
And incredibly easy.
My kind of combo.

Now I have to make that bread. Gotta buy a dutch oven first.

It really is good bread, especially when you consider how easy it is to make.
I have a third generation cast iron dutch oven that I couldn't live without! It weighs about 10 pounds and heating it to 450 degrees and handling it was a little frightening but it worked perfectly for the bread.

I used to have a dutch oven, but it was cast aluminum and I recycled it.

Mo as Sultan with odalisques. He's a sweet, old-fashioned boy.

When'd the top tooth go?
Sozlet's top two are both loose. She's lost all four bottom ones. First the middle two, then the outside two. The two middle teeth have grown in, leaving a gap and then canines. She looks quite feral.

The tooth has been gone about 6 weeks. The other top tooth is hanging by a thread. Plus two more on the bottom are really loose. He'll probably be eating nothing but bananas if those teeth don't come in quickly. Everything is shifting around giving him a real hillbilly look to go with the new accent/grammar he's trying on -- hillbilly-lite. I have no idea where it's coming from.
