kill or be killed
I think i'd kill if someone was trying to kill me. That is if i would be given the opportunity. I don't think i'd kill anyone in my family even if they were trying to kill me though. As for the original question:Does everyone have it in them to kill?
I think we do if we needed to.

No. What I'm trying to discuss is your view that it should be legal to kill someone who threatens to kill you.

If you've disarmed and disabled a terrorist on a plane, should it be legal to kill him at that point?

Should it be legal to kill him earlier, when he was still a threat, yet there were non-killing options available to you?

Oops, this one's dead. So sorry!

so are there any situations whereby killing would be morally correct?

maybe a case of euthanasia or abortion?

for me it is a no! in no circumstance should anybody be excused of ending another's life.

I wonder what a soldier thinks when he looks at the medal he received for killling human beings.

Well technically, medals aren't awarded "for killing people". They're given for behavior that brings merit on oneself like courage under fire.

A good combat soldier who has been taught properly, is an expert in two things. Killing and destroying.

This film disturbed me a lot, I was young when I saw it. Many soldiers come home from a war and cannot cope with daily life. They are so used to killing, just like smoking, it is hard to stop.

Legit question for ya' then Snood. What would the "kills" awarded to fighter pilots be considered? You know me, the more the merrier, but I'm curious about the analogy.

Simple - kills are kills, they aren't medals. We were talking about medals.

...yer stretchin', bub. You started off trying to insinuate that medals are awarded to people for killing. That is demonstrably untrue, so now you're trying to make some choplogic leap to the number of kills painted on fighter pilots' jets, as if that's the same thing...

Yeah, there are people who fight wars who revel in killing - it takes all kinds, and war's a brutal thing. But the institutions of the military do not have any mechanism or protocol for awarding some kind of reward to people for more or less people killed. That's where you started to go, and that was bullshyt.

An accurate answer to that inquiry requires TESTING everyone.
