Second man arrested over video of kids smoking pot

Another teenager has been arrested in connection with a videotape showing a 2-year-old and 5-year-old smoking marijuana, police said.
Vanswan Polty, 18, of Fort Worth, faces two counts of injury to a child. Polty was being held at the Watauga Jail on Sunday. Bail was set at $150,000 following his arrest late Friday.
The children's uncle, Demetris McCoy, 17, of Watauga, was arrested Feb. 23, on a charge of injury to a child.
Authorities say the video shows two children being taught to smoke marijuana. In it, the children are called "potheads" and asked if they "have the munchies," police said.
Fort Worth Police found the video Feb. 22 while investigating McCoy and Polty in connection with some area burglaries.
The children have been placed in foster care, said Child Protective Services spokeswoman Marissa Gonzales.

It's only pot, for christ's sake. It's not like he was giving the kids cigarettes or something dangerous like that. Injury to a child is the charge. I ask you, Where is the injury?

giving it to kids that young is also just plain wrong...

If some 17 year old gave her a joint... and then videotaped it! I would want his ass to rot in jail for a very long time.

Oops. I was trying to make a point about how cigarettes are more dangerous than pot, but obviously, this isn't the story to use in that endeavor. I don't know what made me think I could use this story to bolster that point.

But seriously though, if I found out some teenagers were trying to teach my infant or toddler-aged child to drink, or smoke, or anything like that, I don't think that a felony charge would be that strange of a thing to ask for.
