When to Register

How long in advance before your shower should you register?

My MIL is throwing me one at the end of May. My mom at the beginning of June.

I know it's a little early now and we won't know the sex til March 8th (whoo hoo!!!) but when can we start after that? Is 2 months in advance way to early? I want to get going! Laughing

The reason I ask is because I don't really know when people start shopping. A week before? A month before?

I'd do it once you know the sex of the baby and kind of know what you want.

I don't think it matters if you are too early - the registry should be in effect more in regard to date of birth rather than when you register. That way if some one does go shopping extra early, the registery will be available and if they don't until last minute, it will still be available.
