The day after the marathon I had to walk downstairs backwards.

Just remembering, I was in NYC one year ago today, had lunch in a diner near 44th St, saw a show off-Broadway, and met some French folks on the walk back to Grand Central Station who were wearing their marathon medals. With pride. They said they were not tired, and indeed they looked very happy.

I've been taking some time to re-read this thread.

It's really a bit of a 'wow'.

Lots of hard work and good writing in here.

Headed out to dinner with friends, almost as good as the friends I have here.

First, let me thank all of you for your support. I couldn't have done it without you. Really. I thought about each and everyone of you each time I stepped on one of the 5k mats, knowing that you would be watching and cheering me on. I could hear you over the noise of the crowds (except in Harlem, they were louder and played great music.)

And didn't Realjohnboy do a really fabulous job of reporting? Thank you so much.

I'm going to write up the whole experience in the next few days, make that today because I see it's just after midnight.

It was a very emotional experience for me and I thank you all for sharing it with me.

My official time was 5:27:47.

I'm officially on my next life.
Joe(I'll do better than that next year)Nation
