The next time the boss finds you snoozing at your desk, take heart -- literally.
A large new study has found that people who regularly took a siesta were significantly less likely to die from heart disease.
"Taking a nap could turn out to be an important weapon in the fight against coronary mortality," said Dimitrios Trichopoulos of the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, who led the study published today in the Archives of Internal Medicine.

Hmmppff wha? <shnort>
Actually the whole midday sleep thing seems so natural I'm kinda surprised no one seems to have really studied it before.
I love taking naps in the afternoon - if time permits, of course.
this subject was discussed recently by several business people on a tornoto TV talk show .
their comment : "we pay our employees to work and not to sleep ! " -
subject finished , go away !
just last night there was a news-feature from a very successfull canadian software company(located in new brunswick) . here employees are encouraged to nap ! "employees do a much better job after having had a snooze ! " , the boss said .
take your pick !

Yep, better work-time productivity, lowered risk of heart attack, keep your brain cells longer/regenerate more -- all sorts of good reasons to nap.
Jespah, I read (but where, somewhere in the last day) that they'd seen the connection years before but never had such a well thought out study as this one.
Perhaps the research just put 'em all to sleep.
