Noelle Teran was walking along the bike path in suburban Highlands Ranch, and upscale neighborhood south of Denver Colorado. She was pushing the stroller containing her 14 month old son Alejandro while her 4 yr old daughter walked alongside. Today, Alejandro has passed the critical 72 hour period where the brain remains vulnerable to damage.
The bike path was just over a small hill from the Interstate where a Volkswagan Passat was being towed. A wheel and part of the axle broke off the Volkswagan going 65 mph, headed across the highway, over the hill, through a fence and smashed into the stroller. A bicyclist stopped to give the baby CPR while others called 911. Alejandro is "getting better every day" and his mother hopes he will be upgraded to serious condition as early as today.
Terrible, is all I can say.
