civillians, aren't they all terrorists

i always get the impression that LSM thinks so

You're confused, i think most American liberals are terrorists, not most Iraqi civillians. Try to keep up.

It is interesting when you talk to soldiers that were there, that when they return to the U.S. and read the news, they wonder if the news articles are talking about the same place. It is apparently very different from their impressions of the place, so the only obvious conclusion is the media is not accurately reporting the situation.

I will agree with that. My experience in Afghanistan was very different from what the news reports said about the place. Not to mention the type of work we did and what was going on.

It appears most, if not all, right wing-nuts are not dead, they're only resting. It's easy to tell which Iraqi's are terrorists, they're the ones we keep killing. First we take Baghdad then we take Baghdad then we take Baghdad then we on-load body bags to ship home. We will have swell parades, Lonestar will ride at the head of parade in a Caddy convertable (best car to ride in after a war)

Yes, of course, you get ample luggage space in a fairly deep trunk.

Way back in 04, my local paper tried getting first hand info from a marine with local ties. I started a thread about it. At the first sign that all was not a bed of roses the military gave it the kibosh.

Did you check the link?

Edit: The newpaper links in the original thread are no longer valid. Here is what is currently available, which appears to be all of it with the exception of the editors note mentioning that the the series was being halted due to military restrictions.

For every e-mail that marine wrote, many more could write the opposite. She voliunttered for service, not the club med.

She most certainly did.

Quote:
After leaving active service in January, Bahti joined the Marine reserves and volunteered in April for deployment in Operation Iraqi Freedom II.
"I knew Marines were being extended and I thought that I could let some Marine come home and be with his family if I volunteered," she wrote. "So that's what I did, because this is what Marines do." http://www.azstarnet.com/sn/attack/39495.php

For you to belittle her service says much.

You're grasping, i never belitteled her service & you can't show me where i did. I respect a volunteer because they enlist to serve, not enlist to get out of a draft. But you don't appear to understand what respect is.

I dunno bout that, there's some liberal/cowardly AWOL soldiers hiding in your country. They're desperate, so watch 'em.

So are you trying to say that when you said, She voliunttered for service, not the club med., that you meant that as a compliment?

You're not that dumb, so why are you pretending to be?
I meant, she volunteered for service, not the club med, you can take that anyway you want, I don't give two figs.

No figs needed. The implication of your remark is clear and unambiguous.

You started off this thread with a rant about the media only reporting news that made Bush look bad. Here is a news flash.... Bush needs no help looking bad.

I showed where the AZ Daily Star attempted to do a good thing. They found an upbeat marine that had volunteered for duty in Iraq and arranged for that soldiers experiences to be reported weekly.

The fact that the tone of the letters changed as reality of the duty set in and censorship was applied by the military cannot be blamed on the editors of the paper.

If all you want is sugar laced pablum, then stick with the right wing rags such as the Free Republic.

That's a lie so I didn't go any further in your post. I ranted about the media reporting American dead & why don't they report the terrorists deaths or any good that our military does.
