My last menstrual cycle was on December 3rd and on the 29th of December I had my gallbladder removed and was on pain medicine for a few days afterwards. My question is, can having surgery throw your menstrual cycle off course because it is now the 8th of January and still no period. My boyfriend and I are always careful when having sex and I know for a fact that he has not ejaculated inside of me. I have been having period like symptoms for a few days but no blood. Can someone give me some advice?
Get a pregnancy test from a drug store, and if it's positive, call your GYN. I would also be careful about what medications you are taking, since the situation is not yet solid. But do it right away. There are many children named Whoops.

He doesn't have to in order for you to get pregnant.
Yes, surgery can delay your menstral cycle.
I hope that you and your boyfriend are following the doctor's advice about sex after surgery.
