We are north of it and we got socked.

Stoneham is still pretty much hunkered down.

I just got back in from snowshoeing along the tops of the snowplow berms.
The snow had drifted up over the lower third of the storm door, so I had
to force my way out. That doesn't sound high until you realize that the door
is up four steps from a slanting walkway and the walkway is up a step
from the the sidewalk.

Gonna shovel a lotta snow this afternoon.

Stay safe.

the bark on the ribs is insane

it's fun to sit and watch him build it as he finishes off your order

after he boxes your ribs for take-out, he swabs on a quick layer of honey

the ribs are good to begin with, he makes a good sauce, and he knows how to build the bark

the fries last night were perfect

He's got two markets - the rejects from the Legion across the street who like his cheap burgers and beer and the rest of us who do take out.

I estimate that Set shovelled at least 8 times yesterday, probably more. I took 2 and a half runs at it.

Just got a knock on the door from one of the locals .... Hi Beth, I just wondered if you want me to dig you out?

whaaaaaaaaaaat?

Looked out again ... hmmmm apparently there was a bit more snow.

I have family in the the New Haven area (two different branches who don't know each other) and am seeing some pretty spectacular pictures on Facebook and Instagram. One was of that lower-third-of-the-storm-door thing George mentioned. WOW.

It's tricky to gauge how deep it is at my mom's apartment complex (where I spend the weekends) because the buildings are surrounded by sweeping concrete parking lots, and snow is still blowing every which way. In some places you have 8-foot snow dunes; in others you can see the exposed grass of a lawn or the road.

There's a 4-foot snowdrift right up against her patio door, which I doubt the landlord is going to be much help with. Time to buy a shovel I guess! The cat enjoyed watching the snow pile up outside the door, until it got to the point where he couldn't see over the drift. We put a tall chair up against the door so he could still watch the snow blowing around outside.

Incredibly we had power through it all, but the winds haven't stopped so the lights could still go out on us.
