So very glad to see you too, Walter! Of course you know my professional e-mail address, as well as the one I currently use for internet postings.

This thread, kindly started by Phoenix, appears to have gathered only the nicest forum members so far - hope Lola, Blatham, and my other friends (both online and those I met in person) will show up as well.

We had an Abuzz meet-up in Salem, Massachusetts a few years back (2002?): Jespah (i think "Region Philbis" was there too, but don't recall for certain), Marycat, Lil' Kay, Masscass (Quinn at this site), Diane, GeneralLee (Blaise Daily at this site), i think Plainoldme was there, too, but am uncertain--eBeth and I were there, of course, and went to Maine afterward to spend some time with MarleyFrancis.

We've had some meets in Toronto, which in addition to eBeth and me, included Cavfancier and his wife (i never remember her screen name here), BoGoWo, Wenchilina, JoeBlow, Djjd and the Prince.

We also did a tour of the Great Lakes a few years back, and met in Madison with Sozobe and her family, Timber, Peppermint Patiodog and i forget who else.

AHEM!

Well, at least Beth and Sozobe remember meeting me.

Last year while I was in Europe I met Raphilion (in Rome), Dag and Ul (in Vienna). If I think about it now, this speaks loads of the community spirit that a2k has, I felt our meetings defied some logic.

Before that I'd never written something directly to either Dag or Ul, and mostly italian questions to Raphilion. But I had a great time with them. I sure do look forward to meeting more members when time comes.

I've met:
Jjorge when I squired him around Seattle,
Ossobuco both here & in CA,
ehBeth & Diane in Tucson & NY,
Jeanne d' Seattle many times,
Gautam the Prince, Steve 4100 & Mrs. Steve in London,
Roberta, Merry Andrew & Squeedleboink in NYC (and also SemiOtterly),
Ginny LongDog in NY & VA,
ShoeSharper & The Stoat in Seattle.

I also received a lovely card from McTag when he couldn't make the London get-together, Wink
and mango chutney straight from Margo after she met and took care of an old friend of mine... the chutney being was so good it made me want to go straight to OZ for more. Very Happy

Piffka, Did Squeedleboink used to go by a different name? If it's who I think it is, then I met her too. Didn't know about the name change. Live and loin.

I wouldn't want the A2K Aussies to be neglected. For the May 2006 Chicago gathering there was a glimmer of hope that the legendary dlowan might appear.

Dlowan, I have met Occom Bill and you still haven't!

You've met him too, right Letty? Seems like Bert had another online name too... can't remember what it was.

I certainly wish him well... what a wonderful man. I still remember sitting in a Thai restaurant and listening to him and Merry Andrew discuss something so literary (I think it was Thomas Pynchon or James Joyce) that all I could do was bask quietly in their wit and erudition.
