One more thing about the Chicago gathering last May: Gus was too shy to meet everyone at Sublime's condo, but he was watching from across the street.

I have met a handful of a2k'ers, All scallywags and scoundrels except, of course, Thomas and Clary.

Thomas- Just before I read you post, I realized that we HAD met, and my brain must have gone in neutral.

And the unforgettable Letty, of course.

I wonder if the occasion has ever arisen where two A2kers have passed in the night?

Or maybe shared an elevator together without realizing each others identity?

Or stood side by side in a grocery store, examining tv dinners and exclaiming, "Everything is so expensive nowadays!"

I believe I saw dys at the foot of a cactus as I burned through New Mexico last summer. The wind from my truck passing caused his hat to blow off and as I was becoming a speck in the distance I glanced in my rear view mirror and saw him knocking the dust off his hat and shaking his fist at me.
