Hi. I wonder what is the difference between these two questions? They appeared in a book designed to teach English: American Headway 3, page 111, describing a person.

What is she like?
What does she look like?

THANK YOU in advance.

What kind of person is she?

What does she look like?

What is her appearance?

And yes, English IS a peculiar language! Very Happy

(For instance- She is bright, witty kind, and understanding. She loves good literature, and tends to enjoy being with one or two people, rather than in a crowd.)

(For instance- She is 5'6", of medium build, with long brown hair, that she usually wears tied back. She usually walks very quickly, and often is holding a book that she is reading.)

You're making things worse by the minute, Phoenix. I suggest you go sit in the corner. I'll take over now.
