Yay for the cherry tomato and the extremely talented (and not at all short) gardener who coaxed it forth! Seems like a nice solstice gift.

It does, doesn't it, soz! Very Happy

Just goes to show what an average sized person can achieve through natural talent, hey?

I'm not going to rush into eating it, though. I'm going to savour the experience!

Msolga--

If you don't give Ceres a share of the glory, there might not be a second tomato.

Right!

Thanks for that timely information, Noddy! If only I'd known before!

So greedy & ignorant of me to take all the credit!

I'm preparing a little shrine for the worship of ceres right now!

Cross your fingers! Very Happy

<thinking>

Perhaps I should make a sacrificial offering of my first cherry tomato, as a homage to Ceres? I think she'd rather like that! Very Happy

Hmmmmm .....

Msolga--

Just a ceremonial toast with tomato will do.

Ceres is not a greedy goddess--but a little credit where credit is due...

Msolga--

Ceres is like a farmer's wife who gets to run the whole farm.

She probably would appreciate just a wee bit of beef fat, but she's not a greedy deity.

How's this?:

It rained. It eased the fires. Expect Christmas snow

A spectacular cloud heads towards St Kilda, and with it an eagerly-awaited cool change. It reached 31 degrees in Melbourne yesterday, falling quickly to 20 degrees about 7.30pm.
December 23, 2006

FINALLY, it broke. The skies across Melbourne and Victoria opened last night - and the result was flash flooding in northern and eastern suburbs and relief for firefighters and towns threatened by fire.

State Emergency Service volunteers attended 200 calls in relation to flash floods. The worst affected areas were Doncaster, Northcote, Malvern and Nunawading. Trees were blown onto cars in several places. Some roofs were also lifted.

And just to spice things up a little, the people of the alpine communities have been told to expect snow on Christmas and Boxing days.

Thursday night, meanwhile, was Melbourne's hottest December evening in 40 years, with the minimum temperature being 27 degrees at 12.40am. ... <cont>

You can say that again, Noddy!
But these days it's even more unpredictable than usual! Confused

Tai, if it brings some rain, I can cope with a bit of flash flooding! My garden looks like it's had a good wash this morning! Clean, clean, clean! Very Happy
