Hi,
would greatly appreciate if you advised whether noun "abolishment" does exist and if so what is the difference compared with "abolition".
Is "abolition" used only in conjuction with laws?
Thank you for your help,
dimitris
The words abolition and abolishment are synonymous, and interchangeable--you can use either one to mean the same thing. I would only point out that "abolishment" is uncommon, you are more likely to see "abolition." You can use either, however, as there is no distinction in the definition.
Many thanks!!!!
Have checked at least 4 dictionaries though and there is no entry for "abolishment" as noun of the verb "abolish"........ Obviously is uncommon......
Thanks again!!!
cheers
