Hello everybody
I have two sentences
"His girl friend turned out to be an enemy spy. He trusted her absolutely"
I combine these two sentences into one by using relative clause
I have two possible answers
The first : "His girl friend, whom he trusted absolutely, turned out to be an enemy spy"
The second: "His girl friend, who was trusted absolutely by him, turned out to be an enemy spy"
My question is: Which one is grammatically right?
Thanks so much

Both are gramatically correct, but the first one is preferable. The relative clause of the second one is in the passive voice, which is generally not the preferred way of doing things in English.
