Cross with African Tribal Symbol..

Why are you using the cross as a symbol for God? From your question I assume that you are from a Christian tradition...

Think of what the cross symbolizes in the Christian story, The cross is a (rather brutal) form of capital punishment. If the biblical story of Jesus happened today it would be an electric chair or a noose.

The cross is a symbol of torture and death... especially the torture and death of God's son.

In the Christian tradition there are many good symbols to represent God. The throne is used very often, as is a crown. God also appears in a cloud on a mountain. This would be a very powerful symbol.

If you specifically want to symbolize Jesus, the lamb is the most common and perhaps the most appropriate symbol.

My favorite representation of God in the Bible is the "still small voice of calm", I don't know how you could put this on a tattoo.

But the cross was a symbol of terror in the time of Jesus and the early church. This symbol of torture, death and cruelty against God is not a good choice in my opinion.
