To express their wanton fantasies by defacing gnarly old gum trees with bright paints?
I can find real breasts that are much softer here in the US.
Is that a knothole just under the yellow triangle?

Yup. It used to have an itsy bitsy bikini on it
Hmm...trees only grow breast-like knobby bits in Australia? Why do you never read that in the travel books?
So, do you know Eucalyptus deglupta? The bark is very colorful without paint attacks.
Not known to me osso.
There are about 12 species of eucalypt which occur naturally outside of Australia. Only 2 species are not found in Australia. One of these, Eucalyptus deglupta, is the only eucalypt to be found growing naturally in the northern hemisphere, occurring in the southern Phillipines (as well as in New Guinea and parts of Indonesia.
Well, back when I tried to memorize Eucs, I learned there were something like eleven hundred varieties. We just happened to have some deglupta on the UCLA campus, where we did walkies. And the 'just happened' probably had a history.
The tree went particularly well with the Bouquet Canyon stone of the walls.. and that was a limited edition as well. This was not a fluke, as the two had been picked by the campus landarchs, whose name I should remember and don't, but surely it is of record.
I see by google that the trees are native to Mindanao...
Eucs are not native to California. They were brought over en masse by someone whose story I forget.
Some beautiful places in California have stands of eucs of many different varieties.
They can be a problem.
I just realized I'm posting in a humor thread.
Yaaack, sorry, sorry.
No worries, osso. Some people may find eucalpt info amusing.
It's my understanding the trees were brought here for use as wind breaks to stop the dust bowl effect that had Oklahoma suffered.
dadpad, own up!
I suspect this tree is on your property & the artist is very well known to you.
Hmmmmm?
A question though: any boy trees to around those parts?
